Reading Cinemas has been operating in New Zealand as an entertainment company since 2002, according to their Facebook page. They are owned and operated by Reading Entertainment, who also has cinema locations across Australia and United States.

As of writing, there are 8 locations across New Zealand in which Reading Cinemas are located. As you can see in the pricing table above, the Invercargill, Rotorua, and Queenstown locations have different pricing structures compared with the rest.

Reading Cinemas Courtenay was one of the most recent locations to join the others in offering the same prices for all ticket classes. In May 2016, they joined the rest, lowering their ticket prices from $16 to $10 across all its standard movie showings.

• Reading Cinemas Invercargill is a first-class 5-screen cinema complex. It features ultra-large screens, 2D and Dolby Digital 3D sound systems, and great candy bar deals. Its first release movies are also another reason to come to the cinema complex with your family and friends.
• Reading Cinemas The Palms is located in Christchurch City. It is the city’s first-class 80screen cinema complex that features wall-to-wall screens and digital sound, first release movies, and luxurious armchairs arranged in stadium-style seating.
• Reading Cinemas Napier is the city’s first-class 4-screen cinema complex with similar features as the other theater locations.
