Shaw Theatres
Shaw Theatres can be dated all the way back to 1924, back when the Shaw Organisation was first founded by Tan Sri Runme. Tan and his brothers owned a film company titled Unique Film Productions where they produced silent films.
The company has come along way since its humble beginnings nearly 100 years ago. Today, Shaw is the leading distributor of international films in Singapore, representing some of the world’s largest film distributors. During the 10 years from 2005 to 2015, over 500 films were played on Shaw huge network of cinema locations.
Shaw also commands many of Singapore’s IMAX screens – allowing them to show only the best content for their loyal customers. Similar to Cathay Cineplex, Shaw also offers a high-end solution to the clients who choose.
Their Premiere ticket option, although higher priced, provides a movie experience you won’t ever forget. Even if you only try it once, we’d highly recommend giving it a shot. Customers who opt for the Premiere experience will be treated to luxurious leather seats with seat-service, an exquisite selection of drinks from the bar, and an extensive range of gourmet food to choose from. Of course, we can’t leave out the access to the exclusive bar, reserved for Premiere ticket holders.

As mentioned previously, Shaw Theatres currently owns and operates eight locations around Singapore. In fact, they only just recently opened their 8th location in early 2016. Shaw Theatres at Waterway Point features 11 of the most up-to-date cinema screens and a newly built IMAX screen as well. There were a number of people advising the aircon is usually turned up pretty high! So be sure to bring a jumper just in case. Nothing’s worse than an uncomfortable seating environment.
