We recently asked our readers what made them instantly fall in love with a movie in one of our movie ticket giveaways (link).

Here’s what brings a movie from good to absolutely amazing for her:
The excitement of feeling that you are in the movie, and that it pulls you away from reality, and gives you the imagination to believe anything is possible wether it’s feeling like a ninja or finding your first love. Hanging on to the idea that the stuff in movies is possible it gives people the idea to look forward to high-school or trying new things. So movies can be very sentimental to some people cause of the hope or fuzzy feeling in your stomach that it gives you and for me hanging on to those ideas makes me love movies.
We couldn’t agree more. Movies are more than just sitting yourself down for a couple of hours and being entertained. They are, quite literally – pure imagination.
Many of your reasons were fantastic to read, and we knew straight away that we couldn’t simply keep them to ourselves.
As such, here are a few more worthy entries, and awesome reasons to fall in love with movies.
The acting of course! It makes the movie so vivid, l get lost and I feel the emotions coming from the characters it feels so real. That’s why people come out of the theater and think the movie is so good. The actor makes you feel like you’re part of the movie. – Susanna from Nebraska
The soundtrack. Movies that have carefully curated soundtracks, with themes that closely match the lyrics of the chosen songs, or montages that are carefully choreographed make me instantly love a movie. Who can forget Fight Club’s final moments with the perfectly chosen song “Where is My Mind” by the Pixies? Or even the Montage from Notting Hill, where Hugh Grant tromps through location the movie is named after to “Ain’t No Sunshine”? A soundtrack or even just a single perfectly chosen song can make any movie an instant classic. – Delaney from Tennessee

How the characters can make me instantly connect with them . To the point I’m forgetting that I’m even watching a movie.. I love when I can relate to someone on the screen and whatever role their playing they are playing it so well that I actually believe them and, it won’t matter how many times I watch the movie I can still fall in love with the storyline again and again. – Melvenna from New York
What makes me instantly love movies is the experience. When I sit down to watch a movie, I escape reality for 90+ minutes. I’m focused on the characters, the story, and the action. I laugh, cry, and am put on to the edge of my seat. That’s why I love movies. – Brian from Ontario, Canada
What makes me love a movie instantly has to be how well all the elements of the movie blend together. If the actors, setting, and script work well with each other then I automatically become deeply immensed into the movie and everything it’s about. – Johanna from California
What makes me instantly love a movie is when I see that the story is going to take me to places beyond my own reality. I get to know new people, new places, and I get to know them while being in the comfort of my own home or at a comfy chair at the movie theaters. The music, sound effects, the settings, and overall the actors immerse me in their world and make me want to keep watching more. – Maria from California
Surround sound is a must for me, but I also love inspiring story lines, good acting, NEW ORIGINAL IDEAS, mystery, intrigue, and clever plot twist. I like the story to be engaging and unpredictable. If the story is interesting enough, I forget about the sound. – Chris from Ohio
